Hillstreet Country Club’s Gallery Opening ~ A Huge win for Art in Oceanside

Last  night marked the opening event for Hillstreet Country Club’s new Art Gallery located at 212D Artist Alley Oceanside, CA. Hillstreet Country Club is a non-profit art organization whose goal is to promote art and artists in Oceanside. They have been doing pop up art events throughout North County over the last year and last night finally opened their permanent home in Artist Alley.

The inaugural event featured the work of photographic artist Johnny Nguyen. It is part of a three-part overall event which you can learn about here.

The opening was a huge success with over 150 people attending. Here are some pictures of the over all event.

Pre-event guests ~ While setting up a group of children walked in from a church event across the way to ask what we were doing. Johnny let them in to look at the photos and talked to them about art. This actually really encapsulates what all of this is about.

The event was catered by Wrench and Rodent Seabasstropub, The Truffle Trike, and Vista brewery “The Booze Brothers“.

Not your normal catering spread. Chef Davin Waite of Wrench and Rodent Seabasstropub brought it with local yellow tail nigiri, tuna as well as vegetarian ceviche, and yellow tail collar.

Again this was a knock out event and I personally think a very important one for art, food, and culture in Oceanside.
