Hello Betty Fish House Opens ~ Oceanside

Hello Betty Fish House recently opened in Oceanside 2 blocks from the beach connected to the new Spring Hill Suites by Marriott.

This is the Hotel side of the restaurant but you get a better idea of the space.

The Interior is great. Very open and modern with good lighting.

The restaurant serves Southern California inspired seafood using fresh local ingredients.

I have eaten there twice now. The first time on opening day (which I normally don’t do because the restaurant usually still needs to find its feet). No worries though both times they delivered.

Grilled Fish Sandwich ~ chipotle tartar, lettuce, tomato, brioche bun.

My dining partner had the fried version of this and both versions of the fish were flavorful and moist.

AHI Tuna Flauta~ black bean sauce, papaya salsa, spicy guacamole.

Really thought all the flavors in this dish worked well together.

Yellowtail ~ Red rice, salsa verde, coleslaw

Again perfectly cooked fish (medium rare as ordered). The rice was good as was the salsa, which was not really needed as the fish had so much flavor.

  1. First off I want to say awesome blog! I had a
quick question in which I’d like to ask if you do
not mind. I was curious to find out how you center
yourself and clear your mind before writing. I have had
a difficult time clearing my mind in getting my ideas out.
I do enjoy writing but it just seems like the first 10 to 15 minutes are usually lost simply just trying to
figure out how to begin. Any ideas or tips? Cheers!

    • I became involved in writing by necessity, just like the photography. I consider it all gorilla warfare type tactics to showcase what I want to get out there regarding restaurants in my area.

I do have to be in the mood and can not force it. What I do now is write in MS word just as a train of thought, just get it on the page let it flow. Then I go back and correct stuff and copy and paste that into the blog. That way while I’m initially writing I’m just expressing myself and not worrying about spelling and run on sentences. Also I can do this in steps. Write a paragraph if I start to struggle I’ll save it and come back to it later.

This answer is perfect a example. I just answered as if you had asked me and I was responding in person. (there are probably a lot of mistakes and run ons but I got my point across) Hopefully:)

      Hope that helps.
