Slater’s 50 / 50 is a Southern California-based small chain restaurant group. They have 7 restaurants now with two being in San Diego. The first opened in Point Loma at Liberty Station and the newest recently in San Marcos.
I brought along a Chef friend of mine and we both came to the conclusion that maybe we should not be so pre-judgemental about local or regionally based small chains as long as they can deliver the food (which they did).
They have a few beers on tap (100 actually)
That is only the front side of the beer menu
So many to choose from
Hoegaarden White on tap.
Thai Sriracha Wings.
Note ~ The wings were cooked perfectly, crunchy on the outside and tender moist chicken on the inside. We both agreed they could use more heat and less sugar though.
Flaming Hot Burger ~ carne asada fire beef, pepper jack, beer battered jalapeño, roasted green chile, chipotle adobo mayo, brioche
Note ~ Cooked a perfect rare as requested. Just enough heat and you can tell the meat is fresh ground in-house.
Fritos Crunch Burger ~ Brandt beef, bacon American cheese, bacon turkey chili, Fritos, 1000 island, brioche
Note ~ The combination actually works really well. The bacon turkey chili is really good.
