I’m really excited about this post. I have ignored this place for too long.
It was recommended to me a few times but I always passed it by. I’m sad I did, I really liked it and I will be back. I met someone here for a business meeting earlier this week and knew I had made a mistake on not visiting it sooner.
It ticks all the boxes..Local (with history on top of that), fresh produce, a lot of which comes from their own farm, and it’s a certified green restaurant.
It’s funny you’re going to see a lot more pics of the restaurant than the food, which is reverse for me. This is not a comment on the food, which I loved, it is more of a testimony to the space. Also to the fact I had been eating like a little piggy all day.
Epic Victorian house built in 1888. It is a registered historical landmark.
Coffee bar. They have an extensive drink list of hot and cold coffee drinks as well as craft beers. They also have my favorite Kombucha from Living Tea. (They do Kombucha Mimosas too.)
OK onto food.
Portabella Pepper Sandwich ~ Roasted portabella mushroom and red bellpepper, red onion, fresh greens, feta cheese and mustard. Served on a focaccia roll (mine was on wheat)
It is hard to get a Portabella perfect. This one was as good as any burger (and I’m a hard core carnivore…I just love veggies.)
One of the rooms on the second floor.
Bonus! Farm fresh Blood Oranges and Grapefruits $1 for 3 and $1 for 1 respectively.
I would check it out.
Things I want to try next time….
Yammin’ ~ Roasted organic yams/sweet potatoes filled with roasted veggies and side salad.
Teriyaki Tofu Wrap ~ Fresh grilled flour tortilla filled with teriyaki tofu, brown rice, and spicy salad.
