So, I just wanted to post a couple great dishes I had recently. These are all from places I have posted about before on the website. The reason I go back to them multiple times, is not with a post in mind, but to just have lunch or a drink.
The fact that I’m a nerd when it comes to food means I always have my camera on me so if I feel the need I can take a picture. I’m glad this is the case because these dishes (and one drink) blew me away.
Petite Madeline ~ Oceanside
Newport Brunch ~ Layered Terrine with smoked White Fish, Mahi Mahi, tomato tartar, parsley lemon gremolata, white beans., with toasted house-made rustic bread. Side salad of Portobello mushroom fritters, red butter lettuce, and caper vinaigrette.
This was so good and I ordered it during a business lunch on a whim. Insane; it was on their specials menu so probably will not be around long. Order it if it is.
LTH ~ Oceanside
Go Greens Farms baby Kale & Quinoa Greek Salad ~ Feta, heirloom cherry tomatoes, cucumbers Kalamata olives, citrus vinaigrette.
I had seen this on the menu the last time I was in and wanted to try it. I’m glad I did, great take on a Greek Salad, really fresh ingredients, and perfectly dressed.
Masters Kitchen & Cocktails ~ Oceanside
Cable Car ~ Spiced Rum, Orange Curacao, Fresh Lemon Juice, With a Cinnamon Sugar Rim.
The bartender asked me what I wanted to drink and said if you don’t see it on our list I can make it for you anyway. I asked for my favorite drink which very few bartenders know. It is one thing to google it, he knew the drink, that it originated at The Starlight Room in SF, and that the man who invented it there is now director of beverages for the Wynn Hotel Group. Very impressive. The drink in the picture has a regular sugared rim. (I did not expect them to have cinnamon sugar on hand.)
I’m getting spoiled, because there is so much going on in Oceanside I am not having to travel far for great food. I need to head a little further east in North County for my next batch of posts. Also there is a new Fish and Chips place that opened in Encinitas I want to hit.
Here are links to my posts about the places mentioned as well as their websites.
